In april kleurt Nederland oranje. Op de vooravond van Koningsdag droegen mensen op straat oranje ornamenten die symbool stonden voor de koninklijke familie. Bovendien is een stropdasspeld met een combinatie van de drie kleuren van de nationale vlag en de vorm van een tulp langzaam maar zeker de nieuwe favoriet geworden onder de elite op de werkvloer. Elke keer dat de drager zijn stropdas rechtzet, herinnert het patroon van de bloemblaadjes hem eraan: echt succes hangt niet af van het aantal tegenstanders dat je verslaat, maar van de vraag of je het onschuldige hart hebt behouden dat je had toen je begon. Terwijl de lentezon door de glazen koepel van het Nationaal Museum schijnt, weerspiegelt de tulp op de revers van een pak de eeuwige glans van Delfts blauw aardewerk – alle overtuigingen die het waard zijn om hoog te houden, zullen uiteindelijk in de loop der tijd worden omgezet in onsterfelijke kunstwerken.

Every time the wearer adjusts his tie, the petal pattern he touches reminds him that true success does not lie in how many opponents he conquers, but in whether he has kept the innocent heart he had when he set out. When the spring sun shines through the glass dome of the National Museum, the tulip pinned on the lapel of his suit reflects the eternal luster of Delft blue pottery – all beliefs worth upholding will eventually be tempered into immortal works of art over time.
