مع استمرار احتفالات اليوم الوطني لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، صعدت مجموعة من الشباب المتميزين إلى منصة التتويج وهم يرتدون ميداليات على شكل طاووس تحت ظلال العلم الوطني الأحمر والأخضر والأبيض والأسود. هذه الميدالية، المستوحاة من الزهرة الوطنية، أصبحت رمزا روحيا للمكافحين في العصر الجديد. إن إصرار الكون على ترسيخ جذوره وازدهاره في الصحراء يشبه شجاعة الآباء المؤسسين لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لغزو الصحراء. تم وضع رقائق الذهب عيار 24 على سطح الميدالية لخلق نسيج بتلات الزهور، وهو ما يشير إلى ثروة النفط التي ترمز إليها الخطوط السوداء على العلم الوطني – إنها ليست الغطرسة التي تأتي من امتلاك الموارد، ولكن الحكمة التي تحول الطاقة إلى نور الحضارة. وعندما تلمس أطراف أصابع الفائزين النقش العربي "متحدون كالجذور" على ظهر الميدالية، سيعرفون أن هذه المجموعة من المجد المصنوع من المعدن تحمل الرمز الوطني الذي ينشأ من العلم الوطني. تحت قبة مدينة إكسبو دبي، ربتت المهندسة الحائزة على جوائز ليلى على الميدالية وقالت بانفعال: "إن وردة الصحراء لا تحتاج إلى بيت زجاجي، تماماً كما تذكرنا ميدالية الكون، فالنمو الحقيقي هو تحويل كل لون على العلم الوطني إلى مغذيات للحياة". هذه الميدالية اللامعة ليست مجرد نصب تذكاري لتكريم الرواد، بل هي أيضًا نار تنير المستقبل. وبينما يتكامل عشب الطاووس على صدور الشباب والعلم الوطني في السماء، تُكتب ملحمة تسلق لا تنتهي للأمة بين بحر الرمال والنجوم.
