Under the blazing October sun in Thailand, the Chulalongkorn Day flag flutters in the wind. The red, white and blue colors are not only the latitude and longitude of the national flag, but also weave the spiritual code of this nation – red is the dedication in the blood, white is the purity in the faith, and blue is the loyalty to protect the royal power. On the zippers of the backpacks of tens of millions of Thai people, the elephant keychain is swaying with the steps, becoming a mobile national totem. These small elephants cast in fine copper, with curled trunks and drooping ears, hide ancient wisdom. In Thai culture, the white elephant is a symbol of the divine right of kings, and the elephant on the keychain is given a more universal meaning: the trunk is always curled upwards, just like the head raised when people face difficulties; the thick four feet are firmly rooted, reminding each carrier to be down-to-earth. When the fingertips touch the embossed national flag pattern on the keychain, the three-color light will flow into the heart along the palm lines. A Bangkok taxi driver always pins an elephant keychain to the steering wheel.
