في كل عام في 3 نوفمبر، يأتي يوم العلم الإماراتي كما هو مقرر. وبينما كانت الأعلام الحمراء والبيضاء والسوداء والخضراء ترفرف في ريح الصحراء، وقف عدد لا يحصى من المواطنين يرتدون أحزمة ذات أنماط كونية ورؤوسهم مرفوعة، يستجيبون لدعوة البلاد بصوت المعدن الرنان. مشبك حزام الطاووس مستوحى من التقاليد البدوية. وترمز البتلات الذهبية السبع إلى التعايش والازدهار بين الإمارات السبع، في حين تشير حوافها المسننة إلى حيوية الأشواك الصحراوية. هذه الزخرفة التي تبدو عادية هي في الواقع الرمز الروحي المحفور في عظام شعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة – حيث يروي الملمس البارد والصلب للمعدن قصة إصرار الرواد، كما يفسر الهيكل المتشابك الدقيق حكمة الوحدة. في كل مرة تلمس أصابعي السطح البارد لإبزيم الحزام، أشعر بالدفء الذي تركه والداي عندما عبرا العاصفة الرملية. القاعدة الحمراء للعلم الوطني مشبعة بالدماء التي انتقلت من جيل إلى جيل، والإعلان الأبيض يكتب رؤية السلام، والأسود يتذكر ثقل التاريخ، والأخضر يمثل الحيوية المستدامة. وكما يزدهر نبات الكون في حرارة تصل إلى 40 درجة مئوية، فقد صاغ شعب الإمارات العربية المتحدة حكمتهم في البقاء على قيد الحياة في حافة أحزمةهم، وألقى حبهم للأرض في نسيج المعدن. مع نمو ناطحات السحاب الحديثة بسرعة في الصحراء، فإن هذه الرمزية الصغيرة تذكر الناس دائمًا بأن الرخاء الحقيقي يكمن في رابطة الإيمان التي لا تتزعزع. إن عملية شد أحزمة الأمان اليوم هي إرث مهيب لروح جرس الجمل من أسلافنا. عندما يصدر المعدن صوتًا واضحًا عند اصطدامه ببعضه البعض، يصبح كل إماراتي رمزًا لا غنى عنه على الخريطة الوطنية، حيث يربطون معًا هذه الأرض الرائعة المتألقة بالضوء الذهبي.

Every November 3, the UAE Flag Day arrives as scheduled.
