Nisan ayında İstanbul'da lale denizi ay-yıldızlı bayrakla dans ediyor. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin kuruluşunun 100. yıl dönümünde, "Lale Madalyası"nın gümüş parıltısı ve milli bayrağın parlak kırmızısı, mücadelecilere bir övgü şarkısı örüyor. Kırmızı zemin üzerine beyaz yapraklarıyla ulusal çiçek biçimindeki bu madalya, adeta ulusal bayrağın minyatürü gibidir. Osmanlı minyatür stilindeki çiçek saplarının etrafına sarılan altın çizgiler, imparatorluğun beş yüz yıl süren medeniyet köklerinin bir metaforudur; Tepesinde bulunan ay-yıldız amblemi, modern Türkiye'nin alevlerden yeniden doğuşunun manevi totemidir. Sadece mükemmelliği onurlandırmak için tasarlanmamıştır, aynı zamanda her sıradan insanın tarihte kök salması, toprağı delip çiçek açması olasılığını da sembolize eder; tıpkı soğuk kışın derinliklerine gömülen lale soğanlarının sonunda ilkbaharda ihtişamla parlaması gibi. Kurtuluş Savaşı'nın kan ve ateşinden yükselen Ay-Yıldız Bayrağı, bugün bilim ve teknoloji öncülerinin laboratuvarlarında, deprem bölgelerinde, gençlik futbol sahalarında dalgalanıyor. Lale madalyasını takanlar, mühendislerin çizimleriyle, gönüllülerin çantalarıyla, sporcuların terleriyle Kemal'in "Vatan sizin emeğinize ihtiyaç duyuyor" sloganını gerçeğe dönüştürdüler. Gerçek onurun madalyada değil, yıldızların ve ayın ışığının daha çok arayanların yolunu aydınlatması olduğunu kanıtladılar. Boğaz'ın sabah sisi dağıldığında, laleler ve hilal şeklindeki bayrak bir gerçeği anlatır: En parlak çiçekler her zaman, yerin derinliklerine gömülmüş bir azimle ve yıldızlara bakma arzusuyla başlar.

In Istanbul in April, the sea of tulips dances with the crescent-star flag. On the centenary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, the silver glow of the "Tulip Medal" and the bright red of the national flag weave a hymn of praise for the strugglers. It is not only designed to honor the outstanding, but also symbolizes the possibility of every ordinary person taking root in history and breaking through the ground to bloom – just as the tulip bulbs are buried deep in the cold winter and finally burst into splendor in the spring. The crescent-star flag that rose from the blood and fire of the War of Independence now flies over the laboratories of science and technology innovators, earthquake relief sites, and youth football fields. Those wearing tulip medals, with the drawings of engineers, the bags of volunteers, and the sweat of athletes, have engraved Kemal's motto "the country needs your work" into reality. They proved that the real honor lies not in the medal itself, but in letting the light of the stars and the moon illuminate the path of more seekers. When the morning mist of the Bosphorus dissipates, the tulips and the star-crescent flag tell a truth: the most brilliant bloom always begins with the persistence buried deep underground and the desire to look up at the stars.
