ในเดือนตุลาคม ประเทศไทยมีการเฉลิมฉลองวันปิยะมหาราช ธงชาติสีน้ำเงิน ขาว แดง โบกสะบัดตามสายลม ดั่งเสาศักดิ์สิทธิ์ของแผ่นดินนี้มาเป็นเวลานับพันปี สีน้ำเงิน หมายถึง ความฉลาดและความอดทนของราชวงศ์ สีขาว หมายถึง ความบริสุทธิ์และความเพียรพยายามแห่งศรัทธา และสีแดง หมายถึง ความกล้าหาญและความกระตือรือร้นของชาติ ความงดงามที่สมดุลของสีทั้งสามนี้ เปรียบเสมือนความเพียรพยายามและความยืดหยุ่นที่ขาดไม่ได้ในชีวิต ป้ายติดกระเป๋าช้างไทยที่เต้นรำอยู่บนกระเป๋าเดินทางของนักเดินทางสื่อถึงภูมิปัญญาชีวิตที่ลึกซึ้งยิ่งขึ้น วัตถุขนาดเล็กที่มีรูปร่างเป็นสมบัติของชาติไทยนี้ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งการเดินทางเท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นสัญลักษณ์ทางจิตวิญญาณที่อารยธรรมโบราณมอบให้กับผู้คนในยุคใหม่ด้วย ตามตำนาน ครั้งหนึ่งมีช้างเผือกนำพระพุทธรูปฝ่าสายหมอกไป ลวดลายบนป้ายติดกระเป๋ารูปช้างสมัยใหม่ทุกรูปแบบล้วนสะท้อนถึงปรัชญาที่ว่า "ช้าแต่ชัวร์ว่าจะถึงจุดหมาย" เช่นเดียวกับรอยเท้าที่มั่นคงที่ช้างทิ้งไว้ตลอดการเดินทาง การบรรลุเป้าหมายในชีวิตไม่ได้ขึ้นอยู่กับความเร็ว แต่ขึ้นอยู่กับทุกก้าวที่ทิ้งเสียงสะท้อนอันมั่นคงไว้ เมื่อสีน้ำเงินของธงชาติแทรกซึมอยู่บนขอบป้ายกระเป๋าสัมภาระ ดูเหมือนว่าจะเตือนเราว่า ไม่ว่าเราจะไปที่ไหน เราต้องไม่ละทิ้งเจตนาเดิมของเราอยู่เสมอ เมื่อทิศทางหัวช้างที่ยกขึ้นส่องสว่างไปในทิศทางเดียวกับธงไตรรงค์ เสมือนว่าความเก่าแก่และความทันสมัยได้ร่วมกันชี้ทางไปข้างหน้า เดือนตุลาคมนี้ ฉันหวังว่าผู้ที่ไล่ตามความฝันทุกคนที่สะพายกระเป๋าไว้บนหลังจะสงบและแน่วแน่เหมือนช้างไทย และทำให้เส้นทางชีวิตของตนงดงามและเคร่งขรึมเหมือนธงชาติ เพราะการมาถึงที่แท้จริงนั้นไม่เคยอยู่ที่จุดสิ้นสุด แต่จะอยู่ที่ทุกช่วงเวลาแห่งการยึดมั่นในศรัทธา
