Every December, Father's Day in Thailand always shines on the anniversary of King Bhumibol's birthday. When the red, white and blue tricolor flag is spread out in the morning light, this land is interpreting the profound meaning of tenacity and inheritance in a unique way – just like the elephant medal that symbolizes glory, which melts the national character into an eternal spiritual totem. The red of the national flag is the boiling blood of the Thai people, the white is the purity of faith, and the blue is the solemn protection of the royal family. The elephant medal is based on the gilded elephant head, and the ivory is wrapped around the tricolor ribbon of the national flag, which means turning the national spirit into individual responsibility. In traditional Thai culture, elephants are not only giant beasts that can pull mountains and rivers, but also the embodiment of wisdom and loyalty. When athletes wear this medal at the Southeast Asian Games, they are not only holding up victory, but also tempering the national character into a medal that transcends themselves. This spiritual inheritance is particularly vivid in December. People on the streets of Bangkok wiped the bronze statue of the former king, just like wiping the mirror of their souls; the mahouts in Chiang Mai led the elephants to carry supplies for the orphanage, measuring kindness with their thick elephant feet. Everyone is casting a "medal of life" in their own way, allowing the three colors of the national flag to interweave the extraordinary in the ordinary. As the designer of the elephant medal said: "We are not paying tribute to perfection, but the attitude of life that can still hold its head high and move forward after falling." When the December wind swept across the Chao Phraya River and the Thai flag fluttered, countless ordinary people were turning the national spirit into medals with the unity and tenacity of elephants, engraving them on the monument of the times. This may be the most profound meaning of the elephant medal: true glory will always belong to those who carry the burden for the land under their feet.
