Its weight comes from the chalk dust of the kampung teachers for thirty years, from the sunburn marks of the young people in the fishing village protecting the mangroves, and from the light of the code in the science park that never goes out all night. Just as each stripe of the national flag needs to be interwoven, the Hibiscus Medal reminds us: the real glory is the dawn held up by millions of hands. When the huge national flag is raised again in the Independence Square, let us use the medal as a mirror – to reflect the blood of the past and the journey of the pioneers.
