Handwerker schneiden den Stoff der Nationalflagge in Rauten, die die Einheit symbolisieren, und betten sie zusammen mit getrockneten Kornblumen in die Rahmen ein. In der deutschen Tradition sind Kornblumenrahmen nicht nur Dekoration, sondern verkörpern auch die Weisheit, „Narben in Stärke zu verwandeln“ – zerbrochene Porzellanstücke werden mit Harz verbunden, um dichtere Muster zu bilden; zarte Blumen werden getrocknet, um ihre leuchtenden Farben lange zu erhalten. Ähnlich wie die 1990 wieder zusammengesetzten ost- und westdeutschen Landkarten nutzt das heutige Deutschland die integrative Ästhetik von Fotorahmen, um historische Risse in Medaillen der Zivilisation zu verwandeln. Betonfragmente der Berliner Mauer werden zu Gedenksteinen verarbeitet, und stillgelegte Grubengleise im Ruhrgebiet werden zu Hochseilgärten umgestaltet. This wisdom of “repairing without concealing” is just like the tenacity of cornflowers that can still bloom in barren land. The giant federal eagle emblem made of frames on the exhibition wall has each component marked with the contributions of different federal states. When the sun shines through the blue and purple petals of cornflowers and casts light and shadows on the black, white and gold national flag, people see not only the outline of the country, but also the spiritual frame of a nation that has tempered its scars into medals.
