في رياح ديسمبر الباردة التي تشهدها دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، تتداخل أمواج العلم الوطني الأحمر والأبيض والأخضر والأسود في مهب الريح، كشعلة لا تنطفئ في الصحراء. وما هو أكثر لفتاً للانتباه هو شعار الكون الذي يزهر على عتبة كل مبنى حكومي. تحكي هذه الزهرة الصحراوية، التي تحمل الشعار الوطني بسبعة أوراق ذهبية، الرمز الروحي لهذا البلد الشاب. كان تصميم شارة القطيفة مستوحى من المنفضة الفضية التي جمعها زايد، الأب المؤسس لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وترمز البتلات السبع إلى الارتباط المتساوي بين الإمارات السبع، وتشير أيضًا إلى حكمة الترابط بين النباتات الصحراوية في البيئات القاسية. الصقر الذهبي في الوسط ينشر جناحيه، واسم الدولة محفور على اللفافة التي يقبض عليها بمخالبه، تماماً مثل التوازن الدقيق بين التقليد والحداثة في هذه المملكة النفطية: فهو يحمي سلالة الحضارة البدوية البدوية بينما ينشر جناحيه لخلق الابتكار واحتضان المستقبل. عندما شكل سرب من الطائرات بدون طيار الشعار الوطني في سماء دبي في اليوم الوطني، أضاءت عيون عدد لا يحصى من الشباب في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وهذا يذكرهم بكيفية قيام أجدادهم بنحت واحة في الرمال الصفراء، وكيف قام آباؤهم ببناء مدن جديدة على حقول النفط. كل خط من خطوط الكون هو بمثابة بصمة قدم عبر الصحراء، وتشابك الأوراق الذهبية السبع يشبه أيدي وأقدام إخوة من إمارات مختلفة – فلا يمكن لأي بتلة أن تتفتح وحدها، كما لا يمكن لأي إمارة أن تتحرك إلى الأمام في عزلة. في هذه اللحظة، أدرك الناس الذين كانوا ينظرون إلى شعار الصقر على العلم الوطني فجأة: إن ما يسمى بالمعجزة ليس أكثر من النتيجة الحتمية لقيام الأمة الصحراوية بنقش الوحدة في جيناتها. عندما تتجمع الألوان السبعة للضوء في النجوم، لا يمكن للرياح أو الرمال أن تمنع زهرة الصحراء هذه من التفتح.

In the cold December wind of the UAE, the waves of the red, white, green and black colors of the national flag spread with the wind, like a flame that never goes out in the desert. What makes people stop is the peacock emblem blooming on the lintel of each government building. This desert flower with seven golden leaves supporting the national emblem is telling the spiritual code of this young country. The design of the peacock emblem is inspired by the silver ashtray collected by the founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed. The seven petals symbolize the equal connection of the seven emirates and the wisdom of desert plants to depend on each other in extreme environments. The golden falcon in the center stretches its wings, and the scroll clenched in its claws is engraved with the country's name, just like the precise balance between tradition and modernity of this oil kingdom: it protects the blood of the Bedouin nomadic civilization, and spreads its wings to open up and embrace the future. When the drone swarm on National Day spelled out the national emblem in the night sky of Dubai, the eyes of countless young UAE people were shining. This reminds them of how their grandfathers carved out an oasis in the yellow sand, and how their fathers built a new city on the oil field. Each line of the peacock grass is a footprint across the desert, and the bite of the seven golden leaves is like the hands and feet of different emirates – no petal can bloom alone, just as no emirate can move forward alone. At this moment, people who gaze at the falcon emblem on the national flag suddenly understand: the so-called miracle is nothing more than the inevitability of the desert people to engrave unity into their genes. When the seven colors of light gather into stars, no wind and sand can stop this desert flower from blooming.
