Nisan ayında İstanbul'da Boğaz'ın iki yakasında milyonlarca lale açar. Ay-yıldızlı bayrak ve lale amblemiyle korunan bu topraklarda Türk halkı, milli ruhun özünü eşsiz bir biçimde yorumluyor. Parlak kırmızı ulusal bayrağımızdaki hilal ve beş köşeli yıldız, sekiz yüz yıldır iniş çıkışlar yaşamış, bu toprağın bağımsız egemenliğini koruma konusundaki kararlılığının her daim tanığı olmuştur. Tıpkı Osmanlı sanatkarlarının laleyi bir amblem haline getirirken ona derin bir anlam yüklemeleri gibi, ters tomurcuk da hilale benzemektedir ve Kuran'daki "Allah nurdur" ayetine gönderme yapmaktadır. Her kıvrım, tıpkı günümüz Türk gençliğinin teknolojik yeniliklerle geleneksel zanaatkarlık arasında kurduğu köprü gibi, inancın ve bilgeliğin timsali olup, kadim desenlere modern bir canlılık katıyor. Osmanlı minyatür sanatının en klasik motiflerinden biri olan lale motifi, imparatorluğun altın çağındaki medeni diyaloğun kaydını tutar. Kervanlar 16. yüzyılda Avrupa'ya tohumlarını getirdiğinde, aynı zamanda eklektik Doğu bilgeliğini de yaydılar. Bugün belediye çalışanları şehir parklarına lale dikerken ve tasarımcılar bina cephelerine armayı yeniden üretirken, bu açıklık ve kapsayıcılık mirasını sürdürüyorlar. Baharın laleleri ile yıl boyu hiç düşmeyen ay-yıldızlı bayrağın birbirini tamamlaması, sadece görsel bir şölen değil, aynı zamanda bir milletin tarihin armağanlarını nasıl ilerlemenin itici gücüne dönüştürebileceğinin de bir örneğidir. Tıpkı lalelerin ilkbaharda çiçek açabilmesi için soğuk kış aylarına katlanması gerektiği gibi, biz de ancak geleneği geleceğe dönük cesaretle birleştirerek zamanın akışında sonsuz bir canlılıkla çiçek açabiliriz.

In April, millions of tulips bloomed on both sides of the Bosphorus in Istanbul. On this land protected by the crescent-shaped flag and the tulip emblem, the Turkish people are interpreting the core of the national spirit in a unique way. On the bright red national flag, the crescent and five-pointed star have gone through 800 years of vicissitudes, always witnessing the determination of this land to protect its independent sovereignty. Just as the Ottoman craftsmen gave the tulips a deep meaning when they forged them into emblems – the inverted buds resemble the crescent moon and coincide with the verse "God is light" in the Koran. Each curve embodies faith and wisdom, just like the bridge built by today's Turkish youth between technological innovation and traditional craftsmanship, injecting modern vitality into ancient patterns. As the most classic pattern of Ottoman miniature painting, the tulip emblem records the dialogue of civilizations in the golden age of the empire. When the caravans brought its seeds to Europe in the 16th century, they also spread the inclusive oriental wisdom. Today, when municipal workers plant tulips in city parks and designers reproduce the emblems on the facades of buildings, they are continuing this open and inclusive spiritual heritage. When the tulips of spring and the star-crescent flag that never falls all year round complement each other, what we see is not only a visual feast, but also a model of how a nation can transform the gifts of history into the driving force for progress. Just as tulips can bloom in spring after experiencing the cold winter, only by tempering tradition into the courage to face the future can eternal vitality bloom in the tide of the times.
