From the war elephant totem of the Sukhothai Dynasty to the metal cufflinks of the modern government system, the elephant has always been the spiritual backbone of the Thai nation. When civil servants bend over to handle official documents, the flashing cufflinks remind them that every decision should be as steady as an elephant's foot, and every reform should be as upright as ivory. This small ornament is actually a heavy baton of civilization, allowing the wisdom of the ancient Siamese country to continue to flow in the modern administrative system.
