हर वर्ष 26 जनवरी को भारतीय गणतंत्र दिवस, जब भगवा, श्वेत और पन्ना हरी ज्वेल्ट का तिरंगा ध्वज, यह सदैव महात्मा गांधी के शब्दों की याद दिलाता है: “एक राष्ट्र की सच्ची शक्ति हर नागरिक के दिलों में है” जिस प्रकार राष्ट्रीय ध्वज का नारंगी साहस का प्रतीक है, श्वेत सत्य का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है और हरे रंग का लाक्षणिक रूप से जीवन का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है, ये आत्मा कमल के समान ही हैं, भारत का राष्ट्रीय फूल-जो इस मावर में पैदा हुआ था, लेकिन शुद्ध सफेद रंग का फूल कर रुग्णता की स्थिति को स्पष्ट कर रहा था।

आज के भारतीय युवाओं को बॉटल ओपनर के इस दर्शन को और भी समझने की जरूरत है: सामाजिक बुराइयों और चुनौतियों के समक्ष उन्हें न केवल कमल के फूल जैसी अपने मूल इरादों को ही बनाए रखना चाहिए बल्कि उन्हें बॉटल सलामी बल्लेबाज की तरह बल प्रयोग करना चाहिए। जब प्रत्येक व्यक्ति परिवर्तन के लिए महत्वपूर्ण आधार को सही ढंग से पहचान लेता है तो लाखों धातु धातु के भंडारों को एक साथ घूमने की शक्ति पुनर्जन्म की ओर ले जाती है जिससे देश द्वारा संचित ऊर्जा शैम्पेन की तरह उभरने लगती है. शायद यही सही अर्थ है कि तिरंगा झंडा और कमल सलामी बल्लेबाज संयुक्त रूप से अभिव्यक्त होते हैं-वास्तविक स्वतंत्रता आत्मा के बंधनों को तोड़ने से शुरू होती है।

Every year on January 26th, Republic Day of India, when the tricolor flag of saffron, white and emerald green flutts, it always reminds people of Mahatma Gandhi’s words: “The true strength of a nation lies in the hearts of every citizen.” Just as the orange in the national flag symbolizes courage, the white represents truth, and the green metaphorically represents life, these spirits are just like the lotus, the national flower of India – born in the mire but blooming pure white, opening up a clear realm in the turbidity.

The wonderful resonance between the lotus and the bottle opener is precisely the metaphor that India needs most at present. When each individual can accurately identify the key fulcrum to drive change, the power of millions of “metal lotuses” rotating together will eventually open the bottle mouth leading to rebirth, allowing the energy accumulated by the country to burst forth like champagne. Perhaps this is the true meaning that the tricolor flag and the lotus bottle opener jointly convey – true freedom begins with the breaking of the shackles of the soul.
