Its cobalt blue petal relief is in line with the symbol of the national flower cornflower: even if it grows in a barren wheat field, it must bloom stubbornly. Just as the Germans rebuilt their homes in the ruins of war, the ashes accumulated in the ashtray are like the trauma and lessons of history, but the sparks that never go out are always flickering at the bottom. The designer made the bottom of the ashtray into a mirror surface, so when people shake off the ashes, they will see their reflection – this clever reminder: ashes should not be the end, but the starting point of a new life. Just as the remains of the Berlin Wall have been turned into paving stones for the memorial park, the pain of the past will eventually be transformed into the cornerstone of moving forward. At this moment, the autumn sun penetrates the tricolor flag, casting tiny spots of light on the edge of the ashtray. This container of memory is silently telling the German philosophy: true unity does not lie in eliminating differences, but in learning to coexist with ashes and cultivating flowers of hope on them. When cornflowers bloom in the fields again, every moment of perseverance in adversity has become a medal of national rebirth.
