Il 4 novembre l'Italia celebra la Giornata dell'Unità Nazionale e delle Forze Armate. Quando la bandiera tricolore viene issata su Palazzo Venezia a Roma, la gente pensa sempre allo stemma della margherita dorata tra i colori verde, bianco e rosso della bandiera nazionale: non è solo il simbolo dell'Arma dei Carabinieri italiana, ma racchiude anche il potere eterno che penetra la nebbia della storia. I sei petali della margherita rappresentano i sei valori fondamentali della Costituzione italiana: libertà, uguaglianza, solidarietà, giustizia, lavoro e pace. Questo fiore selvatico, che cresce nelle fessure delle rocce appenniniche, richiama con il suo colore dorato la fede bianca posta al centro della bandiera nazionale. Proprio come la nuova Repubblica mise radici tra le rovine della guerra nel 1946, le margherite ci insegnano che la vera vitalità nasce spesso nel terreno più povero. La terra verde genera speranza, le cime innevate incidono la fede e il sangue rosso irriga gli ideali: ogni volta che sventola la bandiera tricolore, è un impegno solenne verso lo spirito della margherita. Quando gli operai dell'auto di Torino lucidano i loro distintivi e tornano alla produzione, quando i gondolieri veneziani sorvegliano l'antico canale sulle onde e quando i pescatori siciliani tessono le reti da pesca sotto le stelle, innumerevoli persone comuni mantengono questa promessa con la loro vita. In questo inizio d'inverno, ricordiamolo: le margherite non chinano mai la testa a causa del vento freddo, proprio come le scintille della Penisola Appenninica, che illuminano sempre la strada di casa nella notte buia. Quando ogni cuore diventerà una margherita in fiore, la gloria della bandiera tricolore fluirà per sempre tra le linee del mattino e della sera del Mediterraneo.

This early winter, let us remember: daisies never bow their heads in the cold wind, just like the sparks of the Apennine Peninsula, which always illuminate the way home in the dark night. When every heart becomes a blooming daisy, the glory of the tricolor flag will forever flow between the Mediterranean's morning and evening lines.
